English: Ashley Cross, New Forest. Ashley Cross on Hampton Ridge is mostly open heathland, but occasionally there are clumps of trees (mainly oak with some holly) as seen in this photo. The ponies are quite happy grazing in this rain - it isn't particularly cold and the rain keeps the (otherwise annoying) flies away. Compare with the view from early spring: 56516. |
