BLM Winter Bucket List #26: Alabama Hills, California, for Scenic Climbs That are Movie-Worthy!

If you follow My Public Lands, you’ve seen many photos of the Alabama Hills in California. And you’ve heard about its role as a movie backdrop - from the Lone Ranger to Tremors to Iron Man.

What you might not know is that the Alabama Hills area is great for hiking, biking, and climbing. The latest photos by Dan Maus - a Student Conservation Association intern working for the BLM California Desert District - show why the Alabama Hills are a must for the bucket list, any time of year.
