  • （左）グラム陽性菌の細胞壁。10-100nmの厚みをもつ、一層の厚いペプチドグリカン層（ムレイン）からなる。タイコ酸、リポタイコ酸などの成分を含む。
  • （右）グラム陰性菌の細胞壁。多層の薄いペプチドグリカン層の外側に、脂質二重膜からなる外膜を持つ。外膜にはリポ多糖と呼ばれる脂質成分を多く含む。
