| Description |
English: Baker Street Station, the Circle Line Baker Street Station was part of the first underground railway in the world, opened in 1863. This section of the station was the terminus of the Baker Street Line, running from Kings Cross Station. Now it is a stop on the Circle Line.
This view is taken from the platform on the north side, while waiting for a train to Kings Cross. This line runs just below Marylebone (having been built by the "cut and cover" method). Its difficult to give an accurate location for the picture, and the station lies by the intersection of 4 grid squares. I won't be upset if somebody supplies a different GR for the east end of the north platform and moves it to an adjacent square ! |
