Summary
[edit]| DescriptionBaobab juice - final straining with sieve.jpg |
English: Shown from the Adansonia digitata baobab tree, baobab juice (bouye in Wolof - names vary) is produced by dissolving the chunky, pale, naturally dry fruit pulp with water and hand-working the wet pulp off the brown seeds and pinkish fibers. The dissolving pulp quickly turns clear water a pale pinkish opaque color. All seeds and fibers are removed with one straining through a fine sieve. The baobab fruit pulp is high in vitamin C and quite tart so sugar is usually added before serving. |
