English: Bascote Staircase Locks, Warwickshire. On the Grand Union Canal, Locks 14 and 15 are built as a staircase where the deep middle gates double as the top gates of Lock 15 and the bottom gates of Lock 14.
This is the view of the staircase from the pound below Lock No 15. The two boats from Lock No 16 https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1757095 are entering the lower chamber of the two-rise staircase. The explanation is very clear here: 1495296 |
