Summary[edit]

Description

1
The above is a photograph of a plant of the Ponderosa Lemon taken Oct. 1st. 1900. On April
15th this plant was entirely leafless and shows what a remarkable free growing and free fruiting
.emon Ponderosa is. Read what the lady says about this plant who grew it and from whom we
purchased it.
The Good & Reese Company. No. 30 Antietam St. Hagerstown Maryland.
1 received your letter yesterday and was very glad to hear that the Lemon Tree gave
such perfect satisfaction. 1 assure you we still miss the tree as every one thought it a beauty.
I cannot say where the Lemon Tree came from, I have had it for several years and the friend
who gave it to me could not tell how it originated. It was very easy to keep, for after it ripen-
ed its fruit in thefall I placed it in my cellar which is very bright, having two windows in it. The
spring before you bought the tree from me it had a few buds on when I brought it out of the
cellar. I set it in the yard in the open air and in June it was a beautiful sight in full bloom, and
it was in full bloom from that time until you bought it. All those large lemons grew on it after
I brought it from the cellar. I can say of this Lemon that it is grand and no one ever saw any

thing like it and any one may be proud to have it. ELIZABETH HAGERMAN.

Public domain

This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightness, contrast, colour-matching, sharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.

Note: This tag applies to scans and photocopies only. For photographs of public domain originals taken from afar, {{PD-Art}} may be applicable. See Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag.
