| Description |
English: Beckton STP: Primary Settling Tank The comminuted sewage from 1481871 is allowed to settle here for several days. The complicated gantries drive paddles along the bottom to sweep the sludge to the deep end. They also drive paddles along the surface to sweep floating debris and oils to the edge. The supernatant liquid (effluent) then goes to the 1481906 and the sludge and scum to the 1481947. |
