Deutsch: Der Begriff Xenophobie kommt aus dem Griechischen. Xenos – bedeutet „Fremder“ aber auch „Gast“ – und phobos heißt übersetzt: „Furcht“. Gemeint ist also die Furcht vor dem Fremden. Eine abweisende Haltung gegenüber Unbekanntem.
English: The term xenophobia comes from the Greek. Xenos - means “stranger” but also “guest” - and phobos translates as: “fear”. So what is meant is the fear of the stranger. A dismissive attitude towards the unknown. |
