Description

The ski leg has had to be cancelled in Bellingham's annual Ski to Sea race due to low snow pack in the Mount Baker area. This provided even more reason for local folks to join in a protest against Shell Oil Company's plan for oil drilling in the Arctic Ocean.

Protest started at the Friday Vigil at the Federal Building and then proceeded where the customer counts; a Shell station on Holly Street. A protest at the consumming end of the oil chain can remind folks of how our lives do make a difference.

Also, like in Seattle, there is a piece of equipment being worked on in Bellingham's harbor, so the protest proceeded to the waterfront next. See descriptions among my photos.
