Description
Deutsch: Gebäude der ehemaligen "Weinhandlung Borchardt" in der Französischen Straße 47 in Berlin-Mitte, erbaut 1899-1900 von Carl Gause als Erweiterung eines nicht erhaltenen Nachbarhauses. Die repräsentative Fassade aus rotem Sandstein weist Neorenaissace- und Neobarock-Einflüsse auf. Auffällig ist der langgezogene Balkon auf kräftigen Doppelkonsolen. Das Gebäude ist denkmalgeschützt.
English: Building of the former "Wine Store Borchardt" at Französische Straße No. 47 in Berlin-Mitte, built 1899 to 1900 by Carl Gause as annex to a neighboring building (not preserved). The representative facade of red sandstone shows elements of Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Baroque architecture. The long balcony supported by large double consoles is especially noticable. The building is landmarked.
