Bigsby Double Neck Guitar, 1956
This instrument, a rare and truly amazing example of
craftsmanship and historical significance, was built by
Paul A. Bigsby (1899-1968). Bigsby, a pattern maker and a
luthier in the truest sense of the word, operated a one-man
shop and designed and gabricated every piece of hardware
for his guitars. Each of his guitars was an exceptional
creation with unique feel, look, sound and function.
Bigsby primarily specialized in custom orders and most of
his guitars were built for professional musicians who used
them prominently onstage and in the studio. He produced
very few guitars so his instruments became legendary and
highly collectible items.

Bigsby is particularly regarded for building the first
modern-looking soligbody guitar around 1947, which
predated the Fender Broadcaster solidbody. This
paticular model was  first designed for Grady Martin, a
