Summary[edit]

Description
English: Bourn Village Sign - detail. The plane at the top is Lancaster JB659, OF-J, which operated from RAF Bourn and was shot down near Amsterdam in January 1944 with the loss of all 7 crew. The wreckage, and remains of 5 of the crew, were recovered in 2000, so presumably this is a millennium sign and the recovery story was news at the time it was erected. The church, mill and Bourn Hall are obvious images.
