English: Bournemouth: gas works continue in St. Stephen's Road Another view of the 1702603. In December the gas board had had this part of the road, on the 1629691, dug up; they then resurfaced it and carried on further west. The bridge itself was due to undergo strengthening works, by the borough council, commencing 1 March, but that has had to be postponed because the gas works have returned, and the hole in the road is even deeper than the original one! The 7½ tonne weight limit sign (facing the other direction since this is a no through road), put up in readiness for the bridge works, has been taped over and the strengthening will now commence on the 22nd. Besides all that, we have a rather picturesque scene as the last of the late afternoon sun catches the upper parts of the 644352 and the large tree alongside. The stark vertical shadow's edge, above the traffic light, is that of the Town Hall Extension, whose higher windows are reflecting a couple of orange spots onto the façade of the 1611470, left.
