For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Zur Stärkung des Ansehens der deutschen Handels-Luftfahrt veranstaltete die deutsche Lufthansa einen Ostasienflug mit 2 Junkersflugzeugen. Die Expedition besteht aus 7 Mitgliedern. Führer derselben ist Herr Dr. Robert Knauss (Unsere Bilder zeigen den Start zum Ostasienflug auf dem Tempelhofer Feld in Berlin.)
Die Besatzung der ersten Maschine: Expeditionsleiter Dr. Knauss, Flugzeugführer Schäbele, Bordmonteur Steidel.
