For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Sachsendorf, Wiederaufbau, Auszeichnung Erntefest in Sachsendorf-Werder, Kreis Seelow, Brandenburg. Sachsendorf liegt im Oderbruch, wo besonders große, durch Krieg und Dammbruch verursachte Schäden zu überwinden sind. Durch Blitzbauten ist in der letzten Zeit schon ein merklicher Umschwung in der Lage der Umsiedler geschaffen worden. Das diesjährige Erntefest am 24. September 1950 wurde daher freudig und hoffnungsvoll begangen. UBz: Der Direktor der KWU-Seelow, Koll.Helmich, (rechts) dankt hier dem Vorsitzenden der Baukomission in Werder, Umsiedler Schielke, für die von ihm geleistet aufopfernde Arbeit und überreicht die erste Kücheneinrichtung für einen Blitzbau als Geschenk der KWU.
