For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Grossottersleben, Nachtarbeit, Dreschen Zentralbild Biscan-Lau 24.7.52-Drusch bei Nacht.Die Bauern von Großottersleben haben mit ihrer MAS und VEAB einen Plan aufgestellt, nach dem gedrahtet und gedroschen wird, damit jeder Halm und jedes Korn geborgen und das Ablieferungssoll vorfristig erfüllt wird.Die Arbeit auf den Druschplätzen der MAS ist so organisiert, daß 50%des Getreides bei Nacht gedroschen wird, wie es die Anordnungen der Regierung vorsehen.Sobald die Ernte in vollen Gang ist, wird täglich bis zu 15 Stunden gedroschen.UBz: Nachts auf der Dreschmaschine-heute keine Seltenheit mehr.Die Bauern wissen auch die Nacht zu nützen, um bei günstigem Wetter ihre Ernte zu bergen und ihr Soll zu erfüllen.Von 22 Uhr bis 6 Uhr morgens herrscht auf den Druschplätzen immer lebhafter Betrieb.
