Zentralbild-Biscan Me-Ho. 22.9.1952 19. bis 22. November, Otto von Guericke-Festtage in Magdeburg. Ein Festausschuss, dem der Verdiente Lehrer Gerhard Rolack als Vorsitzender des Kulturbundes in Magdeburg, Heimatforscher und andere Wissenschaftler angehören, trifft die Vorbereitungen für eine einmalige Veranstaltung, Rekonstruktion der historischen Versuche Otto von Guerickes, des Erfinders der Luftpumpe, der "Magdeburger Halbkugeln" und der Elektrisiermaschine. Guericke wurde vor 350 Jahren, am 20.11.1602, in Magdeburg geboren, war Ingenieur der Festung Magdeburg, entwarf nach der Zerstörung Magdeburgs den Wiederaufbauplan, war 30 Jahre Bürgermeister von Magdeburg und verstarb am 11.5.1686 in Hamburg.
