For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Neustrelitz, Forstingenieur ADN-ZB Bartocha 29.3.1984-ha. Zum Beitrag: Holz schwimmt jetzt zum Sägewerk - Flößerei auf mecklenburgischen Gewässern lohnend. Das ist Forstingenieur Peter Clüver, Leiter eines Neuererkollektivs im Staatlichen Forstwirtschaftsbetrieb Neustrelitz. Eine Broschüre aus der Studienzeit, die dieser Forstmann mal wieder zur Hand nahm, gab den gedanklichen Anstoß dafür, das Holzflößen auf den mecklenburgischen Gewässern erneut zu probieren. Die Testfahrt erbrachte guten Erfolg. Eine weitere wird vorbereitet. Die Forstleute rechnen mit mehreren Tausend Kubikmetern Holz jährlich, die auf diese rationelle Weise transportiert werden können, wobei gegenüber dem Lkw-Transport 80 Prozent der Kosten eingespart werden. Was hier möglich ist, meint Peter Clüver, müßte woanders auch gehen. (Hierzu gehören 1984/0329/300 - 302 N).
