For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Dresden, Standseilbahn ADN-ZB Hiekel 27.9.1985 Dresden: 90 Jahre alt wird dieser Tage die Dresdner Standseilbahn. Die älteste Bahn dieser Art in Mitteldeutschland befördert jährlich 1,5 Millionen Fahrgäste zwischen den Stadtteilen Loschwitz und Weißer Hirsch. Auf einer Strecke von 544 Metern überwindet die Bahn einen Höhenunterschied von 95 Metern. Im Unterschied zu freischwebenden Bahnen wird hier die Kabine durch Seile auf Schienen fortbewegt. -siehe auch 1985-0927-6N-
