Zentralbild Brüggmann Sturm 22.3.1961 Ausländische Freunde studieren in Leipzig Zum Stadtbild von Leipzig gehören die mehr als 10000 Studenten der Karl-Marx-Universität. An der Alma mater studieren gegenwärtig 13199 Studenten. Aus allen Teilen der Welt -aus Afrika, Asien, Südamerika, der Vereinigten Arabischen Republik und den verschiedensten europäischen Ländern- kommen junge Menschen in die DDR, um sich an den Universitäten und Hochschulen ausbilden zu lassen. Allein an der Karl-Marx-Universität studieren 355 ausländische Freunde, die die gleichen günstigen Bedingungen wie ihre deutschen Kommilitonen genießen. Auch sie brauchen keine Studiengebühren zu bezahlen und erhalten Stipendium. Die DDR stellte allein im Jahre 1960 für die Bedürfnisse ihrer Studenten über 600 Millionen DM zur Verfügung. Um die deutsche Sprache zu erlernen, besuchen alle ausländischen Freunde, die studieren wollen, das Institut für Ausländerstudium an der Karl-Marx-Universität. UBz: Das Heimatland des jungen Chemiestudenten Lecanto ist Guayana. Er möchte später die Bauxitvorkommen seines Landes erschließen helfen und hofft, daß der wichtige Rohstoff in Guayana selbst weiterverarbeitet wird. |
