For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Rostock, Botanischer Garten, Haus der Hochseefischer Zentralbild Burmeister 26.6.1962 Zur Vorbereitung der Ostseewoche Der Botanische Garten der Universität Rostock ist das ganze Jahr hindurch ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel der Rostocker Bevölkerung und ihrer Gäste. Tausende Blumen, Pflanzen, Ziersträucher und Bäume bezaubern mit ihrer Farbenpracht jeden Besucher. Vom Edelweiß der Alpen bis zu den einheimischen Gräsern; von tropischen Gewächsen bis zu den Pflanzen des hohen Nordens ist hier alles zu finden. Auf rund 120.000 Quadratmetern haben die Mitarbeiter des Gartens alle Hände voll zu tun, um die Anlagen in Stand zu halten und Neuanlagen fertigzustellen.
