S-Bahnhof Alexanderplatz Der Stadtbahnhof Alexanderplatz in Berlin ist im Oktober dieses Jahres nach zweieinhalbjähriger Bauzeit ohne Unterbrechung des S-Bahnverkehrs nahezu völlig neu erstanden. Aus einem düsteren, dem Verkehr nicht mehr gewachsenen Bau wurde ein moderner Umsteigebahnhof mit unterirdischer Verbindung zur U-Bahn. Die in Glas und Aluminium ausgeführten Aufsichtstürme (unser Foto) bieten dem Bahnhofspersonal hervorragende Arbeitsbedingungen. Den Fahrgästen stehen nicht nur Rolltreppen oder Gepäck- und Fahrkartenautomaten zur Verfügung; die ebenerdigen Passagen des Bauwerkes bilden gleichzeitig ein kleines Einkaufszentrum mit zahlreichen Geschäften.
