For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Rostock, Überseehafen, Schlepper, Frachter, Winter Zentralbild Sindermann 7.1.70 Rostock: Hochbetrieb trotz Eis und Kälte im Überseehafen. Auch bei Eis und Schnee werden die Schiffe wie der Massengutfrachter "Lübbenau" von den kleinen Hafenschleppern in den Hafen geführt. An den Piers des größten Seeumschlagplatzes der DDR herrscht trotz der Witterungsunbilden Hochbetrieb. Im zehnten Jahr des Bestehens des Hafens (1970) sollen neun Millionen Tonnen Export- und Importfrachten verschifft oder Abnehmer im Binnenland abgefertigt werden. (Aufnahmedatum: 6.1.70)
