Nederlands: De traditionele sandalen uit ossenhuid werden in de jaren 70 van de 20ste eeuw alleen nog voor de jacht gebruikt. Voor de rest waren ze al verdrongen door sandalen vervaardigd uit autobanden en plastic exemplaren.
De opname is gemaakt tijdens één van de twee verzamelexpedities die het Tropenmuseum in 1970-1971 ondernam ter voorbereiding op de grote tentoonstelling in 1971-1972, getiteld 'Samo. Een Afrikaans Savannevolk in ontwikkeling'. De expedities duurden elk drie maanden en werden uitgevoerd door de heren J.T. Broekhuijse en F.M. Cowan. |
