| Description |
Nederlands: Negatief. Het 'tourneren' (op tournee gaan) werd doorgaans aan een lagere ambtenaar overgelaten meestal een controleur BB (Binnenlands Bestuur). Dat was niet zelden een ingewikkelde en tijdrovende zaak, vooral in de meer onherbergzame streken, omdat er vanwege het gebrek aan goede wegen dragers mee moesten. In dit geval telde het gezelschap ook militairen, vermoedelijk omdat er juist in het jaar van de foto (1926) een opstand onder de bevolking was uitgebroken. Zo'n tournee was deels een ceremoniële gebeurtenis, koloniaal vlagvertoon, waarbij in ieder dorp de datuk (dorpshoofd) en de ulama (Islamitisch geestelijke) met de controleur uitvoerig delibereerden over rust, orde en belastingen.
