Nederlands: Op de voorgrond ligt een hond die als voedsel wordt aangeboden. De hond kost N. 6,- en een kip N. 4,- (informatie bij negatief CQK1, ongeselecteerd materiaal). Honden worden bij speciale gelegenheden geofferd aan de god Ogun. Susanne Wenger vertelt in 'A Life with the Gods' over het eten van hondenvlees bij Yoruba. De mensen in Ondo eten hondenvlees als delicatesse, ook de aanhangers van Ogun. De bevolking uit andere provincies vind dit weerzinwekkend (1983: 153-154). |
