The shop is in Avenida Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins, Central Santiago, and this photo was taken in September, 2010.
In November, 2006, my wife Pauline and I had completed the North American leg of our World trip and had spent a couple of days in Lima, Peru. From there we flew to Cuzco. At the airport the usual security checks required me to remove my laptop and send it through the x-ray machine. The roller track seemed particularly long and bumpy and, sure enough, when we reached our hotel in Cuzco, I found that the hard drive was on the blink. Fortunately I was able to copy my stored photos and the ones on the camera's memory to CD's before it finally packed up. We were to travel on through Peru and Bolivia and eventually, three weeks later, to Santiago. When we reached La Paz I bought a second memory card. I could have bought a hard drive but, somehow, I was wary of buying it in Lima. Meanwhile my daughter posted the software installation CD's from England to our hotel in Santiago. When we reached Santiago I bought a hard drive from Casa Royal but the CD's weren't at the hotel. It turned out later that they had arrived a lot earlier and the hotel had returned them to sender! Fortunately I was able to put temporary Spanish version of Windows on the laptop and was able to use the laptop for the rest of our trip through Chile, NZ Australia, Tasmania and Singapore.
Thank you Casa Royal!
