| Description |
English: Cassandra's Cup Tea Rooms, Chawton, Hampshire Located directly opposite Jane Austen's house, which can be seen, reflected, in the windows. I have visited several times, but not for about five years. Worth seeking out.
The tea rooms are located on Winchester Road, which was the old A31. Immediately to the right of the picture, was the junction of the A31 and A32, which ran to Fareham. Before the bypass was built, this junction was a nightmare on summer Sunday evenings, with lengthy queues on both roads in the London-bound direction. Frequently, traffic was controlled by a Police officer. |
