Deutsch: Zirknitzer See nahe Otok, eine intermittierende geologische Depression Land-See im Karstgebiet von Slovenien.
English: polje, “Cerknisko jezero” (jezero lake), near Otok, one of several poljes in the karstic area of Slovenia. Cerknisko jezero is a geological feature: “closed depression”. Its (abundant) water is solely drained through natural ponors (sinkholes in the ground, cracks and larger subterranean water ways). The polje is without water management. In wet seasons waters may rise and flood the terrain to become an intermittent lake. |
