Summary[edit]

Description
English: Chapati as it is commonly known in Kenya is a a flat bread made from processed wheat flour same for bread or cakes. To achieve its final form, a dough is prepared by mixing the flour with warm salty water, (some prefer to add sugar) the dough should form to a plasticine like softness. Little portions from the large dough is then flattened with a rolling pin and for the round shape and heated over a flat cooking pan with cooking oil to achieve the golden look. Accompaniments often include stews of any kind. Some enjoy Chapati with tea or coffee for breakfast
