Description

Cladonia grayi G. Merr. ex Sandst., 1929

Photographed from a herbarium specimen.   Assumed to be Cladonia grayi which is the most prevalent chemical variant of a complex that includes: C. chlorophaea, C. cryptochlorophaea, and C. merochlorophaea.

This goblet-shaped podetium was growing on soil on Liberty Reservoir property, on the peninsula area, about 1 mile from Route 32 in Carroll County, Maryland, USA.
