Summary[edit]

Description

Weekend service resumed on the 2 and 3 subway lines between Manhattan and Brooklyn in June 2018 following nearly a year of Superstorm Sandy-related repairs in the Clark Street Tube, which carries the 2 and 3 Lines between Manhattan and Brooklyn. The Clark Street Tube houses a pair of 1.2 mile-long subway tunnels that were flooded by record Sandy storm surge in October 2012. While repairs were made temporarily to restore 2 and 3 subway service immediately after Sandy, extensive repairs and reconstruction of the tunnels were needed for the long-term viability and continued safe operation of trains.
