Summary[edit]

Description
English: Coast Guard Watch House and Dun Briste The coastguard ’watch-house’ on Downpatrick Head is of W.W.2 vintage. The ogre, Geodruisge, perished when God separated his land from that of Saint Patrick resulting in the sea stack called Dun Briste. So much for legend - it is recorded that the separation took place in 1393. The remains of a medieval house, cultivation ridges, walls, and a broken quern stone were found on this island.
