Carlos Díaz y Eduardo Spencer registraron diversos momentos y personajes de la Guerra del Pacífico. Estas imágenes se comercializaron al público, fueron publicadas por diferentes medios para informar sobre las acciones del ejército nacional y muchas de ellas fueron utilizadas en el Álbum Gráfico Militar de Chile, confeccionado por Antonio Bisama Cuevas en 1910.
