Español: Diagrama que muestra el procedimiento empleado por los autores de la imagen para elaborar mapa de la red de conexiones estructurales en el cerebro completo. Publicado en el artículo mencionado más arriba. Descripción del proceso:
  1. Se obtienen, mediante es:imagen por resonancia magnética:IRM por una parte, imágenes de alta resolución ponderadas en T1 y por otra el espectro de difusión (DSI).
  2. Se segmentan la sustancia blanca y la sustancia gris.
  3. a Se dividen las imágenes en 66 zonas anatómicas claramente delimitadas que a su vez se subdividen (3b) en 998 "regiones de interés" (ROI's).
  4. Se efectúa una tractografía del espectro de difusión para estimar las trayectorias axonales de toda la sustancia blanca.
  5. Se combinan las ROI identificadas en el paso 3b con los resultados del paso 4 para calcular el peso de las conexiones entre cada par de ROI's. Como resultado se obtiene una red ponderada de conectividad estructural de todo el cerebro.
