The base is a piece of white translucent material underneath a piece of glass. Below that is a Bowens Prolite 60 aimed at the background (white foam core). Also underneath is a Nikon SB-800 aimed slightly in front of the corkscrew - that's what's giving the gradient appearance. Lighting the front of the corkscrew is another P60 through a large soft box. The whole set is shrouded in white foam core and translucent plastic.
