General Sir William Riddell Birdwood seated in an Avro 504K ready for a flight from Minchinhampton to Leighterton, two Australian aerodromes in Gloucestershire. The pilot is Major R C Phillipps MC DFC, No. 6 Training Squadron, Australian Flying Corps (AFC) and in the back is General Birdwood, while standing to the right is Major R S Brown, No. 5 Training Squadron, AFC.
