Deutsch: Das Wappen ist eine bildliche Darstellung der nicht datierbaren örtlichen Sage, dass bei einer Überschwemmungskatastrophe ein Ochse die Umzäunung des Klostergartens nicht überspringen konnte und deshalb das einzige überlebende Haustier gewesen sei. Eine naheliegende Deutung der Wappenfigur wäre der Hinweis auf die im Gemeindegebiet wichtige Viehzucht. Der Zeitpunkt der Verleihung von Marktprivilegien ist nicht bekannt; die früheste überlieferte Bestätigung erfolgte 1490; ein Brand vernichtete 1507 die wichtigen Urkunden. Das Wappen mit dem Ochsen, jedoch in umgekehrter Richtung gewendet, wurde um 1562 von Philipp Apian mit gleicher Tingierung angegeben. Ein Siegeltypar von 1640 zeigt deutlich höhere Zaunpfosten als spätere Darstellungen. Seit dem 19. Jahrhundert wird das Wappen in der heutigen Ausführung der Figuren und Farben gezeigt. |
