Object history Das älteste bekannte Siegel des Ortes mit der Umschrift �DES MARCKTS ZVSMERSHAVSEN INSIGEL� stammt aus dem Jahr 1590. Von dem bereits 1557 urkundlich erwähnten Gerichtssiegel fehlen Abdrucke. Das Siegel von 1590 zeigt das redende Wappen mit dem Haus an der Zusam. Die Farben sind nicht überliefert. Die von dem Heraldiker Otto Hupp (1859 bis 1949) eingeführte Tingierung erinnert mit den Farben Rot und Silber an das Hochstift Augsburg, zu dem der Markt bis 1802 gehörte. Die Form des dargestellten Hauses, die an eine gotische Kapelle erinnert, hat sich über all die Jahre nicht geändert. Im 19. Jahrhundert wurde der Fluss, der ursprünglich aus dem Tor des Hauses sprudelte, in einen Querfluss im Schildfuß geändert.
