Mural detail showing Daniel de Leon

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Portrait of Daniel de Leon. This portrait is a detail from "The City at the Crossroads of History," a mural series by Mike Alewitz. Mike Alewitz is a mural painter and labor activist. The mural was commissioned in 2014 by the Puffin Foundation to be displayed in the Museum of the City of New York, but the museum rejected the mural and none of the panels were ever installed. The mural consists of four panels showing the history of worker's struggles in America. This detail is from the panel "We Follow the Path Less Traveled," a long horizontal mural depicting 25 historically important leaders of civil rights, women's rights, social justice, worker's rights, socialist and other civil causes dedicated to bettering the lives of the oppressed and the working class.
