| Description |
English: From the end of 1941 a new camp was built in the so-called “Auschwitz Area of Interest” of the SS. It was three kilometers away from the existing Auschwitz concentration camp. From March 1942, people were murdered by poison gas in two former farmhouses in Birkenau.
Deutsch: Ab Ende 1941 entstand ein neues Lager im so genannten „Interessengebiet Auschwitz“ der SS. Es lag drei Kilometer entfernt vom bestehenden KZ Auschwitz. Ab März 1942 wurden in Birkenau Menschen in zwei ehemaligen Bauernhäusern durch Giftgas ermordet. |
