Here are members of our Water Search and Recovery team in action.
The OSU Water Search and Recovery team are trained in searching in shallow water up to a depth of 1.5 metres.
This incorporates the force's extensive waterway network of canals and rivers. The Water team are also able to search open water such as lakes and ponds . The remit of the team is the recovery of evidence from water. There is no limit on what can be searched for. If you suspect that something has been discarded in a waterway, the Water Search Team may be able to help.
Officers from the Water Search Team also form part of the midlands Flood Response Team, who have the training and capability to work with the Fire and Rescue service in rescue operations at times of flood.
