Description
English: Army Col. Gary F. Lamb conducts the U.S. Army Band (Pershing's Own) in the playing of the National Anthem during a Dec. 11, 2001, Pentagon ceremony in remembrance of those who perished in the terrorist attack on Sept. 11th. Lamb began the anthem at 9:38 a.m., the precise time American Airlines Flight 77 impacted the southwest face of the building killing 184 people. The ceremony is part of a day of remembrance proclaimed by President George W. Bush.
