English: Arlington, Va. (April 4, 2006) - Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld eulogizes Caspar W. Weinberger during a memorial service for the 15th secretary of defense at the Memorial Chapel on Fort Meyer in Arlington, Va. Weinberger took office on Jan. 21, 1981, and served until Nov. 23, 1987, making him the longest serving defense secretary to date. During his tenure in office, Weinberger spearheaded President Ronald Reagan's peacetime military buildup. Weinberger died on March 28, 2006, at the age of 88.
