Description
Deutsch: [Originalbeschreibung] Der Grossherzogliche Hessische Justiz-Palast, früher Dalbergerhof auch zu den drei Säuköpfen genannt, wurde von vier Brüdern Dalberg in den Jahren 1715 - 1718 durch den Steinmetzmeister Caspar Herwartel um den Preis von 22.000 fl. erbaut. Bei dem Erbauen wurden wilde Schweinsköpfe als Schlusssteine in die beiden Seitenthore eingenauert, ein dritter wirklicher wilder Schweinskopf, welcher von der Dalberg'schen Familie aufbewahrt wurde und sich noch gegenwärtig auf der hiesigen Stadtbibliothek befindet, waren die Veranlassung zu der Benennung drei Sauköpfe.

Im Jahre 1793 wurde das Gebäude durch das Bombardement der Deutschen Mächte in der Nacht vom 30. Juni auf den 1. Juli ein Raub der Flammen.

Im Jahre 1809 kaufte es die Stadt um den Preis von 22.000 fr. und trat es im Jahre 1827 tauschweise gegen das ehemalige Kurfürstliche Residenzschloss an den Staat ab. Die Regierung bestimmte hierauf das Gebäude zum Justizpalaste und lies es nach dem Plane des Grossh. Hess. Baudirektor Arnold in seinen gegenwärtigen Zustande herstellen.
