Description
Deutsch: Naturschutzgebiet Digelfeld, NSG Nr. 4.188 seit 1991. Wacholderheide, NW Hayingen, Mittlere Schwäbische Alb.
In diesem Naturschutzgebiet sind auf dem ältesten Teil die Wacholderheiden (und auch andere Baum- und Buschpflanzen) kräftig gewachsen. Durch Einschlag und regelmäßige Beweidung soll die albtypische Kulturlandschaft Wacholderheide wiederhergestellt werden. Aus der Beschreibung des NSG: „Vielgestaltige, kleinstrukturierte Landschaft der Schwäbischen Alb mit reizvollen Wacholderheiden, Waldrändern, Kiefernwäldchen, Heckengruppen, Wiesen und eingestreuten Feldern.“

English: Calcareous grassland. Since 1991 the heath is legally protected as a Naturschutzgebiet. Junipers and other bushes and trees grew accordingly (ecological succession). With regular grazing and cuttings the typical landscape of the Swabian Alb shall be recultivated. State funds help to revive sheep keeping.
