Description
English: The launch party on the platform,1938.

Built at Swan Hunters & Wigham Richardson Ltd, Wallsend, Newcastle upon Tyne, The Dominion Monarch was a first class passenger-cargo liner and at the time was the largest of her type ever built in the Australasian trade.
Photographed by J.H.Cleet.
Starting off as an apprentice to South Shields based commercial photographer Parry, James Henry Cleet went on to become an independent photographer, being commissioned to photograph launches, such as this photograph and other official functions.
