Rückseite: [TI CL]AVDIVS CAESAR AVG P M TR P I[MP P P // S C]. Claudius sitzt in der Toga nach l. gewandt auf einem Amtsstuhl (sella curulis). Er hält in der r. Hand einen Lorbeerzweig, auf dem Boden liegen verschiedene Gegenstände der militärischen Ausrüstung. Kommentar: Diese Münze ist im Stil von anderen Münzen dieses Typs abweichend und besitzt auch ein viel geringeres, eher einem Dupondius entsprechendes Gewicht, es fehlen aber Anzeichen einer offensichtlichen Gussfälschung. - Der Titel Pater Patriae (Vater des Vaterlandes) wurde durch Kaiser Claudius im Jahre 42 n. Chr. angenommen. Auf dieser Münze sind der Vater, Nero Claudius Drusus Germanicus (Drusus der Ältere/Drusus maior), und der Sohn, Kaiser Claudius, gemeinsam abgebildet. Die Rückseite reflektiert zwei unterschiedliche Funktionen eines Herrschers: die um ihn herum liegenden Waffen und Ausrüstung sprechen für den militärischen Bereich und die sella curulis sowie die Toga verweisen auf den höchsten Beamten im Reich.
