Summary[edit]

Description
English: East Comb This is the next headland north from Red Head itself, and it is made up of Devonian sandstone, laid down in a desert some 370 million years ago, when what is now Scotland lay in the same latitudes as the Kalahari. In early summer the ledges on the shady side of the headland are colonised by nesting seabirds, mainly Kittiwakes, Guillemots, Fulmars, Razorbills and Herring Gulls, and Puffins nest is burrows in the sloping earthen banks above.
